Warm and Wonderful Cocktails for Fall

Bill’s Package Store wants you to feel warm and cozy this fall with some unique twists to some classic cocktails for fall.

The Maple Old Fashioned

  • Ingredients:
    • 2 ounces dark rum*
    • ½ ounce maple syrup
    • 2 dashes of Angostura bitters
    • Orange twist, for garnish
  • Directions:
    • Add the dark rum, maple syrup, and Angostura bitters into a mixing glass with ice and stir until chilled.
    • Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
    • garnish with an orange twist.

* Bill’s Package Store recommends Captain Morgan Spiced Rum.

Goldwyn Follies

It’s an old-timey name for a tasty fall gin and tea drink.

  • Ingredients:
    • 1 ½ ounces gin*
    • 1 ounce apple juice
    • 1 ounce cranberry juice
    • 1 ounce brewed black tea, chilled
    • ½ ounce cinnamon syrup
    • 2 apple slices for garnish
  • Directions:
    • Add all the ingredients to a shaker and shake until chilled.
    • Strain into a chilled cocktail or coupe glass
    • Garnish with thin apple slices.

Bourbon Rickey

  • Ingredients:
    • 2 lime wheels
    • 1 ½ ounces of bourbon*
    • 1 ounce lime juice, freshly squeezed
    • ½ ounce maple syrup
    • Club soda chilled
  • Directions:
    • Fill a highball glass with ice and add the lime wheel.
    • Add the maple syrup, lime juice, and bourbon, and then top with club soda.
    • Stir briefly to combine.

Pumpkin Toddy

  • Ingredients:
    • 1 ounce apple brandy*
    • ½ ounce rye whiskey*
    • ½ ounce fresh lemon juice
    • ½ ounce maple syrup
    • 1 tsp pumpkin purée
    • 2 dashes of Angostura bitters
    • 5 ounces boiling water
    • grated cinnamon for garnish
  • Directions:
    • Add all the ingredients except the water to a preheated mug and stir to combine.
    • Top with boiling water and stir.
    • garnish with grated cinnamon.
